We are always on the lookout for great burger places and we struck upon a find this past week when we visited 12 Burgers on Beltline Road in Dallas.

It's called 12 Burgers because of the 12 burger concoctions they have on their menu but I feel certain you could actually come up with as many as at a Whataburger.  Everything is cooked to order and tastes like it's prepared with love.

The "12 Burger" is their 'garbage' version with a little bit of everything on it - bacon, cheese, avocado, sauteed onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, pickles, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, thousand island dressing, mustard and a half pound patty. That appealed mightily to RJ and he absolutely loved it!

I went with my fav, the Chili Burger- loaded with chili, cheese, grilled onions, lettuce & tomatoes. It was excellent.

You can make any burger into a combo with a drink and your choice of hand cut fries or their hand battered onion rings. We got an order of each and both were top-notch.

Along with burgers, surprisingly enough, 12 Burgers has a pretty extensive menu of other items that sounded terrific (we'll have to go back again soon to try them ). They offer Baja-style tacos, hot dogs, salads, wings, sandwiches and more.

12 Burgers is certainly with the trip from our place in Garland. I see by their web site that they will be opening new locations in Arlington, Denton, & Fort Worth. That should help them take their place along with other highly regarded burger joints in the Metroplex
