Esperanza's Mexican Cafe & Bakery

RJ & I have treated ourselves to meals at Esperanza's Mexican Cafe & Bakery in the Fort Worth Stockyards on more than a few occasions and always thoroughly enjoy it.

The menu is extensive and we've never had anything we didn't like. On our last visit, I had one of my favorites - the gorditas stuffed with fajita beef. I love those little corn pockets that are always lightly fried, then filled to the brim with meat, arranged on the plate and covered with lettuce, tomatoes & cheese. Served with rice and beans, it makes for a perfect lunch!

RJ chose one of his favorites too- barbacoa tacos - 3 to a plate, served with rice, beans and a small bit of salad.

Esperanza's is an offshoot of the famous Joe T. Garcia's and uses some of their same recipes. The main dining room is always lively, with wandering musicians, and lots of locals. The outdoor dining area is landscaped with flowers and trees - very pretty and you'll enjoy being out there if it's not too hot

Be sure to check out their bakery on the way out. Pick up some of their colorful pastires to take home!

You can find Esperanza's at:
2122 North Main Street, Fort Worth - (817) 626-5770
