Bread Winners Bakery & Cafe

Have you tried Bread Winners in West Plano? We have and it's worth repeat visits!

RJ saw a mention of Bread Winners in the paper a few months ago and the following Saturday, we trucked our way over. We've been back three or four times. I know they have three locations but we've only made it to the Plano one, which is nice inside, dark woods, comfy, and inviting. They have an enclosed patio with a fireplace - nice & cozy.

I've gotten their BW's Benedicts, made with smoked ham, the Monterrey Enchiladas ( flour tortillas stuffed with eggs, cheese, salsa & black beans, served with brunch potatoes), Leo's Favorite Scramble (chicken, ham, onion, jack and Hollandaise, served with brunch potatoes) and on the most recent visit, I ordered their Fresh Salad Sampler, which is my new favorite!

Fresh Salad Sampler

Absolutely delicious, the plate consisted of scoops of pasta salad, tuna salad, BW's herbed chicken salad and their Santa Fe chicken salad. In the center was a mound of dressed, assorted greens, decorated with fresh fruit.  The servings of each salad type were more than ample and everything was terrific. There was nothing on this plate that wasn't extremely tasty.

I can't wait to go back. I'd like to get one of their burgers or sandwiches. All of their salads sound yummy. At dinner, they offer chicken pot pie, fish tacos, buttermilk fried chicken, maple mustard chicken, braised short rib potroast, beef tenderloin, turkey meatloaf, tempura fried prawns, chicken fried portabella mushrooms..... is your mouth watering yet?

If you like Eggs Benedict, try the ones at La Duni. Incredible!

Also, new place in Casa Linda area called "Another Broken Egg." I highly recommend the Southern Crab Stack for sheer heaven on a skillet.
