Aparicio's in Plano
|
Aparicio's in Plano has been around since 1986 - it's family owned and operated. They began in a tiny building on 18th Street, selling bakery goods and take-out items, but expanded to a small restaurant with a few tables. That worked for a while until they decided to build the newer, prettier, much larger location right beside the original building. We'd been to the original spot many, many times and have visited their new restaurant often. Aparicio's offers a huge menu of authentic dishes. Like tamales? They have 10 kinds! How about a Napolitas plate? They've got it. Guisado, Calabaza con Pollo, gorditas, barbacoa, menudo, flautas, tacos, taquitos, freshly made Mexican pastries....the list goes on and on.
On our last trip to Aparicio's, RJ got a big bowl of menudo, which he always ranks high there. It's never greasy and it's always got lots of fresh ingredients. My choice this past time was a plate that consisted of two beef guisado gorditas, a beef guisdado taquito, rice and beans. It was fantastic. I love their gorditas - I enjoy the texture and thickness of them. Aparicio's has two locations- the Plano one and a newer restaurant in downtown McKinney, right off the square. You can't go wrong with a meal at either ! 1001 18th St Plano, TX 75074 216 E Virginia St. McKinney, TX 75069 |
