The Egg and I

RJ had business in Addison last week and spotted another restaurant for us to investigate, The Egg and I. Sounds intriguing, huh!

This is a chain based out of Colorado that's been around since the late '80's. This Addison location is their first venture into the Metroplex and we hope it's the first of many!

We liked the homeyness of the Egg and I and of course, the food! The have a full range of breakfast goodies - Benedicts, frittatas, omelettes, skillet dishes, pancakes, waffles, and French toasts plus the also serve lunch - sandwiches, soups and salads.

On our venture over, we were seated right away and our waitress was excellent- on top of everything but not hovering. RJ had to try the Eggs Benedicts, of course, because he is a Benedicts lover This version got an 'A' from the expert! And I had the Cordon Bleu Skillet - ham, chicken, swiss, and Hollandaise sauce on a bed of ranch potatoes and cheese, with two eggs (I went with 'over easy') nestled on top. It was served with buttered English muffin halves. I gave it a big thumbs up. The eggs were just right and the Hollandaise sauce drizzled throughout was creamy and perfect.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but theirs was top notch. Prices were righteous and the whole place was friendly and spotless.

We can't wait to go back and try something else. This was definitely the first of many visits!
