Another new place! Well, sort of....Kel's Kitchen has been around for quite a while and we've been to their location on Forest Lane by the Toll Road a few times. But now, a Kel's has opened in our neck of the woods.

Located on Coit just south of Arapaho in Richardson, they've moved into a spot that has been a couple of other restaurants. Hopefully, Kel's will have great success here and be around for a long time.

We've eaten there twice now -once for breakfast and once for dinner- and have been happy both times. We stopped in for breakfast last Saturday morning. There was a nice crowd but the place wasn't packed. Service was good and very prompt.

I ordered the Kel's Combo - two eggs, ham, bacon, sausage and half a waffle - all for $6.45. RJ chose the Breakfast Feast - also $6.45 - which came with three pancakes, two eggs and choice of bacon, sausage links or patties. Both breakfasts were delicious and filling.

On our dinner visit, the daily special was chicken & dumplings - a favorite for both of us, so we decided upon that as our entrée. It was served with a choice of three sides. We got six different items so we could taste several. We were also brought a basket of rolls and cornbread.  Despite all that, we still ordered dessert- homemade pies. I picked coconut meringue and RJ had chocolate. Both tasted homemade and heavenly. Again, everything we got was A+. The service was a little slower at dinner time. But the owner took care of us personally and we has a great time.

Now, don't go to Kel's expecting anything fancy. But if you'd like good meals at reasonable prices, you'll be glad you stopped in.
