Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field

After our great breakfast on Saturday morning, we set out to do some more exploring and headed to Love Field to go to the Frontiers of Flight Museum. I've always wanted to go- we have been to a couple of other aviation museums in Texas and have heard good things about this one.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids but when we walked in, we were told there was no charge this particular day because they were moving some of the exhibits out to make room for a special event and dinner there later that night. Allright! A freebie!

This place is such a marvel. Founded in 1988, they moved more recently to this new, much larger location. They're funded largely by donations and sponsors.

We didn't get to see everything they have because of the special event but what we did see was amazing... the Apollo 7 capsule, artifacts from the Hindenburg, artifacts of Admiral Byrd, helicopters, jets, biplanes, hot air balloon carriages, engines, control simulators and so much more. There are places throughout where you can watch short films, listen to radio transmissions, do interactive fun stuff plus rooms for birthday parties and there's a big gift shop.

This is a neat place to take your kids and if you're the least bit interested in anything to do with flight, check it out!
