Burger Island in Richardson

This week things have been slow and fairly uneventful- not much exploring going on. RJ has had a bad case of the flu  so we've been housebound most of the time. He has, however, gotten pretty tired of soup, jello, 7UP & juice and had a craving Tuesday for a burger. I was excited since I had been eating whatever he was having and was really wanting some 'real' food!

I got a few takeout menus and spread them for us to take a gander at. Burger Island. Hmmmm...it is great and it's only about 10 minutes away. That was easy.

RJ wanted the Jalapeno Burger- I guess he thought (or hoped) the peppers might burn that flu bug right out of him I picked the Chili Cheeseburger and we always split an order of their fries because they give you enough to feed a small army. Both burgers were giant & required a fork to eat. The chili, sautéed onions and cheese on mine were unbelievably tasty. RJ's burger was stuffed with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and jalapeno slices- LOTS of them.... falling off the bun LOTS...... he LOVED it. Their fries are skin on, seasoned and are both crunchy & soft - crunchy at the ends and soft in the middle. They are usually very long- they must use extra jumbo potatoes!

The Richardson Burger Island is located on Arapaho Rd, close to Custer. We've been going there for a few years, whenever we get an itch for a REAL burger. The food is cooked to order. They are never stingy with anything - the burger patties are big and juicy, the toppings & buns are fresh, everything on the menu is just plain good. They do have things other than burgers, but, why try anything else when you are at a place called Burger Island!

Dine in or takeout, specials daily. Burger Island, 525 W Arapaho Rd, Richardson, TX
Their Garland location: 1250 W. Northwest Highway
