Third Monday Trade Days in McKinney
Last Saturday, RJ had business to take care of in McKinney so I thought I'd tag along for the ride, we could grab something to eat and do some exploring. We ended up driving by Third Monday Trade Days on US380. We've never been so we did a u-turn and pulled in their parking lot ($3.00 to park but admission to the market is free).
It's touted as the oldest and largest monthly flea market in North Texas. While not on the scale of Canton, it was pretty big.
We, of course, picked one of the coldest and windiest days to go - it was FREEZING - but we still managed to have an enjoyable time. It looked like maybe 2/3 of the vendors showed up and most had tarps and wind breaks around their booths so it wasn't as bad if you were 'inside' checking out someone's wares.
And there were ALL sorts of 'stuff' for sale there- we saw new and old. Lots of antiques, lots of oddball merchandise from tools to Avon, lots of adorable puppies for sale, and lots of food. We had already gotten a bite to eat before we stopped there so we bypassed all the food carts and booths but some looked great - especially intriguing was the "Onion Burger" booth where grills were going and hamburger patties were cooking - it smelled absolutely fantastic.

Next market is February 15th, 16th and 17th and hopefully the weather will be more pleasant. If we head up that way, we'll stop and THIS time, we will be hungry when we get there!
