Mimi's Cafe, Allen

We started going to Mimi's Cafe a few years ago and always like going back. It's not a nearby restaurant so we mostly go on a Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast and have to plan to get there as early as possible. If you arrive at 10 or after, there will be a long wait.

Mimi's looks like a little cottage sitting in its shopping strip. We go to the Allen location but there are others around the Metroplex (Lewisville, Grapevine, Arlington, Fort Worth). Charming inside, they have several rooms for dining.

I love their muffins- the honey oat bran to be specific. This one is served upside down and is a sticky piece of heaven. Several of their breakfast dishes come with your choice of muffin  & all of them are yummy.

We've tried many of their breakfast items. I'm a little partial to their Tuscan Vegetable Omelette - stuffed with artichoke hearts, diced tomatoes & feta cheese. It comes with a muffin (of course) , red skin potatoes and juice.
RJ chose the French Toast Breakfast this past visit - thick French Toast with eggs and bacon. No muffin with this one but I shared

We've also gotten Mimi's Pan Perdu (this one's stuffed with cream cheese and marmalade), their Homemade Corned Beef Hash and Eggs,  Pot Roast and Eggs and the Eggs Benedict.

We've been for dinner and I have visited a few times at lunch- everything on the menu always sounds wonderful - and is
