Luna De Noche - Garland
Last night we wanted something good, close by and some place we wouldn't have an hour wait. Most times, Mexican food immediately pops into our minds and it did again last night.
Luna De Noche has 5 locations now but the original is right up the street from us and we've been going there since they first opened. It seems to get better and better with each visit.
My sister turned me on to their guacamole that's made table side. Their version has the usual suspects as far as ingredients but they also add chopped pecans in. "Chopped pecans", you say....well, I am amazed at the difference they make. They really do increase the nuttiness of the avocado. It gets an A+ from me.
I also have gotten to be a fan of the Xochitl(pronounced so-cheel) Soup. Chicken broth with chicken chunks, tortilla strips, avocado chunks, rice, onion, tomato, jalapeno and cilantro- all pack a wonderful goodness to this soup. With fall upon us and hopefully some m ore cold weather, this is perfect paired with that table side guacamole. Oh my!!!! Heaven!
But last night, I tried something else...back to one of my original favs- their Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas. One can never go wrong with those. And RJ got Rudy's Request- three pork tacos - shredded pork stuffed into freshly made corn tortillas, served with the regulars- rice and beans.
Ambiance at Luna De Noche is nice - dark and cozy - the Garland location is pretty but some of their other restaurants are even more appealing. The one on Preston at Plano Parkway is very nice and we've been to a couple of others.
